Melting Ice / A Hot Topic – US Debut
April 18th - September 1, 2008
The Field Museum in Chicago is the first American venue to host Melting Ice / A Hot Topic. We’re all very excited to bring the venue, not only to a US city, but to Chicago where Mayor Richard M. Daley has made the environment an important part of this city’s mission. The exhibit launches on Earth Day, and bridges the 6 weeks to World Environment Day, as a “call to action” for people to personally commit to living environmentally friendly lives. More.

Don’t Miss Out on World Environment Day 2008 in Wellington, New Zealand!
The Natural World Museum (NWM) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) produce a major launch exhibit for each annual World Environment Day (WED) event. WED is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action, commemorated each year on June 5, in a different host country each year. NWM is launching their newest exhibit: Moving Towards a Balanced Earth: Kick the Carbon Habit, which continues their exploration of climate change via the artist’s eyes. More.

Children make their pledge
The Field Museum in Chicago
Family PlayLab
April 18 - September 6, 2008
Adults are not alone in their efforts to take action to save the environment - children are often times as effective, or even more effective, at getting their messages across. A key aspect of Planet Art is harnessing the energy of inspired young people and converting it into positive and solid action. NWM’s Planet Art Program comes to the Field Museum in Chicago where children will be able to send their environmental concerns and pledges of action to environmental leaders - directly from the museum itself!
